Mishloach Manot: The Purim Food Basket
One of the four Purim observances is ‘mishloach manot’, sending a friend a food gifts. Here is how it’s done.
MItzvahs of the day We learned that you need to send a michloach manot with 2 DIFFERENT items of food that have DIFFERENT blessings, and to 2 different friends - why does it say here only one food and one friend?
RE: MItzvahs of the day The video is correct. A person must give two portions of food to one person to fulfill his/her base obligation. While it is customary and proper to give to a few people, it is not necessary. And there is no obligation whatsoever that the portions of food be of different blessings (you can read more about that here).
